The Quota Club of Taree will celebrate 70 years of service to the local community with a special lunch at Club Taree on November 5.
The event will bring together current members as well as past members from near and far.
Joining the celebrations will be the 25 all female strong team of local Quotarians including the current longest serving member of 45 years, Joy Davey OAM.
Joy is well known throughout the community for her tireless involvement in community projects and organisations over many years.
Sixth time president and Quotarian for 44 years, Jeanette Holland OAM, will also be there to thank everyone for their continued support.
Since 1947 the members of Quota have instigated numerous projects locally as well as raise funds for international initiatives which serve to empower women, children, the deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired.
In more recent years Quota members have been responsible for making many morning teas, hosting Dutch auctions and some bigger projects such as making blankets for terminally ill children, opening the quiet room at the Taree Library and creating a chapel at Manning Hospital.
Last week they held a French themed fashion parade.

Jeanette is proud of the achievements over the years of Quota, both locally and internationally.
“Many will remember the Quota bus trips to the theatre in Sydney,” said Jeanette.
Then there were the Hawaiian nights and the French themed nights. Countless trees that have been planted, meals delivered to the elderly, lip reading classes held and library books delivered to those who are housebound.
Though the projects and partnerships may have changed over the past 70 years, one thing remains the same, local Quotarians continue to make a difference.
The work of Quotarians focuses on advocating to empower women, ensuring child development, funding deaf resources, inspiring future leaders, and delivering world service in 264 communities around the world.
As well as holding a celebratory lunch for members, past and present, Taree Quota will host a special afternoon tea for the community on Saturday, November 4 at Club Taree from 2pm.
The afternoon will offer insights into domestic violence.
While the agenda is yet to be finalised Jeanette is sure of one thing. “It will be a great day,” she said.
Donations on the day will be given to the White Ribbon campaign against domestic violence.
RSVPs to both the luncheon and the afternoon tea to be received by Jeanette by October 26.
