MANNING Valley under 15 girls are NSW champions following a sensational win in division one of the State indoor hockey championships played on the Central Coast.

This is believed to be the first time Manning has won a division one indoor title.
The side, coached by Janine Watts and Wade Harry with Bronwen Pensini the manager, defeated Hockey New England 3-1 in the final.
Manning had three wins and a draw from the four pool games, defeating Lithgow 6-0 and drawing with Northern Beaches Sydney on the opening day before accounting for Illawarra South Coast 4-2 and Central Coast (1) on the second day.
This set up a clash against North West Sydney (1) in the semi-final, where Manning won 2-0. Team members were Lara Watts, Bree Pensini, Kilani Cross, Jordan Moscatt, Makayla Manusu, Phoebe Cause, Tilly Hunter, Grace Aldridge.
MANNING Valley boys were runners up in the NSW under 15 indoor hockey division two championship.
The side, coached by Ben Brown, was beaten by a strong Parkes side 4-1 in the final. This was Parkes’ closest match of the tournament.
Manning was later announced as winners of the Hockey NSW Whistle Award for citizenship and sportsmanship. Drew Pensini was named players’ player while the coach’s development award went to Sam Brisby.
Manning finished second in their pool and downed Orange 2-0 in the semi-final.
