For Sue Maurer and Donna French, this is a very special event and one they know all about.
“I’ve been working the canteen at the show for 32 years now, I married into it,” Sue said.
Donna is in her ninth year at the show, and still loves the work.
“This is my way of giving back to the community,” she said.
Meanwhile, Noah’s Thoroughbred Racing Pigs have been a highlight, drawing a crowd of hundreds for the first race of the day.
“We let the kids choose the names for the pigs in each race,” said pig whisperer Kevin Kiley.
“Some of my favourites have been ‘Bacon Me Crazy’, ‘May the Pork Be With You’ and ‘Brad Pig’.”
Over in the livestock pavilion, cattle showing is a family affair, with animals of all shapes and sizes, to suit even the smallest handlers.
In the ring, showjumping proved popular with the crowds, with many riders also partaking in a number of show classes.
