This has been given the green light by the Mid North Coast Rugby Union and follows the success of a gala day played last month at Taree Rugby Park, hosted by the Manning Ratz.
Manning Ratz, Gloucester, Old Bar and Wallamba have all confirmed they’ll have sides. Gloucester played in the Mid North Coast premiership this year.
“The Lower North Coast will benefit from this great new competition,’’ Lee Sullivan, coach of the premiership winning Wallamba Bulls team from last season said.
“This is a great opportunity to play the game we are passionate about,’’ Ash Lambourne, who is in charge of Wallamba’s women’s rugby committee added.
It is planned to play the women’s games in conjunction with the men's competition although details will be finalised by the zone early next year.
