Although attendance was down on previous markets it was still a very enjoyable event.
Those who attended, along with the stall holders, enjoyed a free morning tea and lots of people won lucky spot prizes.
There were some great bargains from the stall holders, with something for everyone. There was also some great entertainment, with Heath Watts playing his wonderful music.
The Lansdowne fire brigade spared some time from putting out fires throughout the district to share valuable information on how to stay safe this coming hot summer season.
The hall trustees are very thankful to the stall holders and everyone who attended the markets, and those who continue to support and assist them throughout the year.
The next Lansdowne Community Hall Market will be on March 31, 2018.
Bowling results
At the Lansdowne Bowling Club, Wayne O’Neill has taken out the title of major singles winner.
The pairs championship was won by John Garwood and Alan Crittenden.
In the triples championship, Darren Bartlett, Kevin Grunow and Graeme Burns were victorious, and the fours championships winners were Darren Bartlett, Kevin Grunow, Graeme Burns and John Newman.
Football club awards
The Lansdowne Football Club held its junior presentation on Saturday, September 30, with the following awards being presented.
Under nines: Coach’s player was Jakob Woodhouse, and Golden Boot went to Kaleb Ryan. A special mention to coach Morgan Thomas and the under nines team, who were undefeated this season.
Under 11s: Most improved went to Maddison Gaul, and Jasper Hardy received the coach’s player.
Under 15s: Players’ player was Tyler Potts, and the coach’s player was Joel Hughes.
The club thanks all the players and their parents, especially the under six and seven Miniroo teams for participating in 2017.
Lansdowne Football Club would like to thank all the coaches, committee and volunteers for their efforts during season 2017.
A working bee is scheduled at Lansdowne Oval on Saturday, October 14. Helpers would be appreciated to assist with the top dressing of the junior fields.
The annual general meeting will be held on Saturday, November 5, at the Lansdowne Oval.
Paton Hall fete at Coopernook
The Lower Manning Uniting Church Congregation (Harrington, Coopernook, Lansdowne) presents the annual Paton Hall Fete, and huge collection of pre-loved everything, which will be held at 4 Petrie Street, Coopernook, on Saturday, November 11.
There will be a number of interesting displays, including woodworking items, whittling, machine embroidery and cake decorating as well as ‘search your family tree’.
There will also be some wonderful home cooking and a stall packed with lovely craft items. Homemade fruit salad, Devonshire tea, sausage and rissole sandwiches will also be available.
Darts results
The Lansdowne Friday evening social darts competition has returned some great results, with Stan Adam the winner, and runner up Lizzy Swan. The women’s highest score winner was Nellie Turner, who scored 105. The men’s winner, Wayne Bell hit 140, and the junior winner was Emily McLaughlin on 87.
School resumes
Lansdowne School children are back to school on Monday, October 9.
The school canteen will be open for breakfast at 8.30am sharp.
