The sensory garden was designed and planted to stimulate the senses (sight, smell, touch, taste and sound) of those who visit it.
Anglican Care Auxiliary Manning president George Hoad said the garden will bring joy to visitors and residents of Storm Village.
“Hopefully the plants I have selected will do just that – not only be a thing of beauty and a great place to sit but also arouse the senses and pleasant memories as well,” George said.
Anglican Care Auxiliary Manning has worked to raise funds to create the garden.
This was the first stage of expanding the garden, with plans to add a shade sail, more seating and additional plants in the future.
Meanwhile, a fundraiser will be held on Sunday, October 8 at George’s property in Killabakh.
National Gardening Week runs from October 8 to 14.
