The event was held for the first time last year and attracted 36 starters, the majority from this area. Co-ordinator, Hugh McLeod ,hopes there’ll be more entrants on November 11. The championship isn’t limited to experienced rowers.
A come and try day will be held at the Manning River Rowing Club on Saturday from 9am to noon.
“This will be for anyone who wants to give indoor rowing a try. We’ll have all the machines there,’’ McLeod said.
“From there if anyone wants to then concentrate on going in the championship they’ll have a bit over a month to prepare.’’
There are numerous categories in the national championship based on age and weight. All States will host a round. The championship will start on Saturday November 4 in Tasmania. Times are then correlated to determine the overall winners
Entry forms for the indoor titles are available through the Rowing Australia website.
