As a Coalition government, we understand the need for affordable and reliable energy. We’ve introduced important measures which will save families and small business hundreds of dollars on their energy bill.
After recalling the energy retailers to Canberra, we secured agreements to inform customers lower costs are available.
We’ve established the government website Energy Made Easy, where people can compare their offer for electricity to other offers available.
With other actions like the Snowy Hydro upgrade, which will deliver more affordability and reliability, it will ensure households and businesses won’t have to pay a cent more than necessary for their electricity.
In a bid to combat the rising prevalence of severe health and social problems as a result of drug use, the Coalition government will be trialling a cashless debit card.
Trial sites have been selected where we will try to identify and help people with drug issues that prevent them from securing or holding down a job.
We are committed to help all Australians secure meaningful employment.
If the trials prove successful the government will look to broaden the scheme to include local areas.
Finally, the NBN roll-out continues to gather pace with fast broadband set to be delivered to all Australian homes and businesses by 2020. More than 6 million homes now have access to the NBN and we are absolutely committed to ensure every Australian has access to high-speed internet.
