They are Jackson Devaney from Old Bar and Forster-Tuncurry’s Lachlan Drew.
Jackson,11, started playing football with North Rocks in Sydney in the under fives. He switched to the Old Bar Gladiators after his family moved to this area.
Jackson plays centre midfield. Both Jackson and Lachlan added a two day training camp hosted by Broadmeadow Magic for West Ham and from there they were invited to attend a four day camp on the Gold Coast, where they were tutored by some of England’s top coaches. From there came the invitation to travel to England with a 13 strong squad.
While away the boys will play against junior squads and be coached by some of the top premier league clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool, Leeds, West Ham and Wolverhampton.
Jackson and Lachlan are both involved with Football Mid North Coast’s Skills Acquisition Program (SAP).
Lachlan, 10, plays in the midfield with Tuncurry-Forster under 12s and the Football Mid North Coast under 10 representative side. His parents admit they thought the Gold Coast camp would be the end of the West Ham journey until Lachlan received notification of the trip to England.
Both are looking forward to the amazing experience. They head to England next Friday.
