The opening gets underway from 6.30pm and will celebrate all the finalists, with the winners being announced by the 2017 judge, John McDonald, art critic for the Sydney Morning Herald.
"We're inviting everyone to join the Friends of the Gallery, Gallery patrons, staff, and supporters for the Gala opening, which also marks the opening of the exhibition of all the finalists' works for the Prize," acting art gallery director, Rachel Piercy said.
The exhibition will run until Sunday October 15.
"The Manning Art Prize carries a prestigious $21,000 prize pool, and the winning entry will be acquired by the Friends of the Manning Regional Art Gallery and donated to the Manning Regional Art Gallery permanent collection," Peter Hugill, president of the Friends of the Gallery said.
"The event has an established and growing reputation as a prestigious national event on the Australian arts calendar."
This year marks the third time over the past 25 years that the theme of 'Naked and Nude' has been applied to the Manning Art Prize.
The collaborative partnership of the FOGs Art Fund, the Manning Regional Art Gallery and Friends of the Gallery provides a platform for local and national artists to showcase their work in the 'naked and nude' genre.
Tickets are $25, which includes light supper and drinks, and are available from the Manning Regional Art Gallery, Macquarie Street Taree. However be quick as numbers are limited.
