The group included members of Climate Change Australia and the ‘Knitting Nannas’.
The survey was made up of 100 responses- all who were in opposition to a proposed $1 billion loan to the Adani Group and in agreement to a move to renewable resources (such as wind).
The results also showed 98% of respondents oppose the mine in general and urge Dr Gillespie to officially do the same.
The group discussed other issues relating to the mine including the effects on the Indigenous people in the Central Queensland region, the Great Barrier Reef, coastal developments and jobs in tourism.
Dr Gillespie was not at the office at the time.
