The team played three games for three wins this week, defeating Soldiers Point, Ashtonfield and Hamilton South Public Schools.
State championships will be played in Bathurst next month.
The girls basketball team from Taree High, which includes many Taree Tornadoes faces, also fired up their CHS competition on Wednesday with a big win away from home against Bulahdelah.
Sunday Basketball at Saxby’s Stadium in Taree for children from kindergarten to year 10 will be back on court this weekend following a break last Sunday caused by the junior representative finals in Port Macquarie. The action tips off at 9am when the kindergarten to year two children play their game and all children interested in basketball are welcome to drop into Saxby’s Stadium to give it a try.
The Tuesday afternoon/night junior and senior competitions rolled into round two earlier in the week and although the games are fast and furious, the flow of player registration fees are slow and slower and with this month being registration time, payments need to start happening at Saxby’s Stadium where Eftpos facilites are available to assist the process.
There are still places available for interested players to join teams and if it’s fun, fitness and friendship you are looking for, basketball is certainly an option with further information available at Saxby’s Stadium or through anyone of Taree Basketball’s contact channels.
New faces are appearing each week at the Magic Monday basketball skills sessions at Saxby’s Stadium between 4pm to 5.30pm for the cost of $2.
Saxby’s Stadium is the home of Taree Basketball and details about junior, women’s or men’s basketball may be obtained on 6551 7456, by email tareebasketball@hotmail.com, on the net at www.taree.basketball.net.au or track down Taree Basketball on Facebook.
