A 69-year-old Bulahdelah man was transported by road in a critical condition by NSW Ambulance to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital on Saturday, July 15 following an accident in Nabiac.

The man was riding a Honda Goldwing motorcycle south along the Pacific Highway in the 100km/hour zone when he collided with a Toyota dual-cab ute.
The ute, driven by a 73-year-old man from the Great Lakes area, was driving west along Dibbs Street, Nabiac and the motorcyclist , travelling southbound on the Pacific Highway crashed into the driver’s side rear door.
Emergency services, including the police, ambulance and Westpac Rescue Helicopter attended the scene.
With spinal injuries and multiple fractures, the victim was considered too critical to be flown to hospital.
The ute driver was detained for mandatory blood and urine samples, while forensic officers from Taree attended the scene.
Police will continue to conduct further inquiries into the accident.
A 54-year-old woman will appear before Forster Local Court on August 9 after she was charged with mid range PCA on July 14.
