The gymnasts from PCYC Taree shone in the tumbling competition with Manuela Stewart the standout performance, taking out second place in the women’s level 3 competition.
Her teammate Indira Reddie took out third place and Miley Cox who competed in women’s tumbling level 2 took out third place.
Over five days of competition, participants and their families headed to the Hunter for the annual gymnastics event.
Held from July 6 to 10, the athletes travelled from as far as Lismore, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga.
The 2017 Country Championships saw gymnasts compete across six gymsports – Acrobatic, Men’s Artistic, Rhythmic, Team Gym, Trampoline and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.
Gymnastics NSW CEO, Aaron Bloomfield celebrates another successful event that showcases the diversity and talent that we have within our rural communities.
“Multi-gymsport events such as this one showcase the diversity of gymnastics and demonstrates that gymnastics truly is a sport for everybody,” he said.
