PCYC Taree has a great reason to celebrate following their success at the recent Gymnastics Country Championships.

The gymnasts from PCYC Taree shone in the tumbling competition with Manuela Stewart the standout performance, taking out second place in the women’s level 3 competition.

Her teammate Indira Reddie took out third place and Miley Cox who competed in women’s tumbling level 2 took out third place.

Over five days of competition, participants and their families headed to the Hunter for the annual gymnastics event.

Held from July 6 to 10, the athletes travelled from as far as Lismore, Dubbo and Wagga Wagga.

The 2017 Country Championships saw gymnasts compete across six gymsports – Acrobatic, Men’s Artistic, Rhythmic, Team Gym, Trampoline and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics.

Gymnastics NSW CEO, Aaron Bloomfield celebrates another successful event that showcases the diversity and talent that we have within our rural communities.

“Multi-gymsport events such as this one showcase the diversity of gymnastics and demonstrates that gymnastics truly is a sport for everybody,” he said.
