TAREE West advanced deeper into the State primary school basketball knockout competition with a win over Gloucester in the boy’s division at Saxby’s Stadium in Taree.
The West started the better and at the end of the first quarter had established a commanding 16-2 lead. Half time saw Taree West ahead 24-5 but after the long break Gloucester competed well with the third and fourth quarters producing very close and exciting basketball with teams going basket for basket.
Taree West took the game 46-21 and if Gloucester could have started the game in the same form they displayed after halftime, the result would have been much tighter.
Referees, Liam Campbell and Bethany Macdonald, controlled the game and thanks is extended to them on their contribution to primary school basketball in the Manning Zone.
