Led by the Taree Lions, the group have launched a fundraising goal of $10,000 on the crowdfunding website ReadFundGO.
To co-incide with the crowdfunding launch a video was made in Queen Elizabeth Park, the desired site of the stage, featuring local musicians Kyle and Jesse Shilling, comedian Andy Saunders and more.
“The Manning Valley has a strong tradition in the performing arts and this region needs more functional and accessible open space venues for families to enjoy local music and a variety of other performances,” said Taree Lions president Phillip Grisold.
“Hamish McDonald of Aurora Show FX believes a simple structural framework concept will provide flexibility for a variety of stage set ups and acts. A stage would further enhance the development of this Manning River foreshore park as a vibrant community open space.”
