Each year group prepared a short concert consisting of a mixture of modern songs and those more well-known by the residents.
“For many of our students this was their first public performance, but nerves were quickly forgotten as they chatted with the residents before presenting their concert,” said music teacher Wendy Parsons.
“The performances were thoroughly enjoyed by the audience who sang along with many of the songs.
“The nursing home visit was a great opportunity for our students to present their classwork in the wider community. They are grateful for having such an appreciative audience.
“The students are now enthusiastically practising a new concert program, which includes several requests from the residents, to perform during their next visit.”
