Great fishing from the Manning River estuary

THERE has been some great fishing in the Manning River estuary during the past week.

Bream and luderick are well and truly on the bite and keeping anglers busy. Bream are biting best from either side of slack water on mullet strips, prawns and yabbbies. Luderick are taking green weed in the daylight hours.

On the beaches tailor are still taking lures and pilchards.

Catches have been sporadic –plentiful one day and none the next.

Outside snapper are on the bite from both north and south areas and a few pearl perch have also been boated.

Flathead have been caught on the drift, while frigate mackerel and mack tuna have been taken on live baits and trolled lures.
