In recent weeks they have been concentrating on stripping the old paint off the car and cleaning the boot area.
“My focus has been removing the rust in the car and fortunately there is not a lot,” explained Ian.
Previous panel repairs had not been carried out to the best of standards, so they’ve been trying to straighten these out in order to lessen the amount of filler needed.
“We are progressing towards getting the main body in primer by the end of March.”
The doors and front guards will be the next area for attention as they both have slight damage from an accident the car was involved in at the Black Head turnoff some years ago.
The goal will be to have the car ready for the Taree Rescue Squad, Weekend on Wheels car show in 2018.
