Crews tend to bush, scrub burns

GREAT Lakes and Taree Rural Fire Service crews were kept busy this afternoon, responding to reports of bush and scrub fires in the local area.

A scrub fire on Elliot’s Rd at Nabiac was out of control late this afternoon and had burnt out about one hectare.

A grassfire at upper Lansdowne was also brought under control by 3pm as was a bush fire on Breakneck Rd at Tinonee.

A bush fire at Washpool Rd, Booral, was out of control earlier this morning, burning 10 hectares.

Crews were also kept busy this afternoon at the Durallie Mine where they responded to reports of a car accident at the entrance of the site.
