In 2012, mother and daughter, Gloria and Jayde Winter took to the seas on the MS Balmoral to commemorate the Titanic's fateful journey 100 years earlier.
In 2011, the Winter family went to New York to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
In 2008, Gloria's daughter Jarna received Club Taree's Youth Leadership Challenge sponsorship, allowing her to take on the Kokoda Trail, a place close to her heart, as her grandfather Henry Fittock fought during World War II on the Owen Stanley Ranges in New Guinea. Henry was in the Shaggy Ridge campaign and was in the 2/27th battalion.
Now, in 2015 Gloria, Jarna, Jayde and Jayde's partner Jon Brettle will travel to Gallipoli on a 36 night trip to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Anzac landing.
The group booked the trip all the way back in 2010.
With the cruise leaving the end of March, the five year wait is nearly over.
"I'm the eldest in a family of five daughters. We have done a lot of family trips overseas both by air and sea, and all have been incredible adventures," Jayde said.
The cruise will embark from Fremantle, Perth on March 26, although the real departure will occur when the cruise leaves the city of Albany, the original location where Australian soldiers embarked from on their journey to Gallipoli.
From there the cruise will follow the Anzac trail, visiting an abundance of places including Colombo, Luxor, Cairo, Gallipoli, Istanbul, Kusadasi, Santorini, Mykonos, Athens, Palermo, Naples and Rome.
"We will tour Anzac Cove and the memorials approximately three days prior to the anniversary of the landing," Jayde said.
The cruise will then be anchored a couple of hundred metres off Anzac Cove for the dawn service.
Once the cruise finishes in Rome, the family will continue their history trail by spending the rest of their eight week holiday visiting other European war memorials.
Destinations on their list include the Auschwitz Concentration Camp in Poland, Anne Frank's house in Amsterdam, Villers Bretonnuex in France and the beaches of Normandy.
"We are also eager to visit the Valley of the Kings in Egypt as one of our shore excursions," she said.
"We love to travel and the memories we have created together while exploring other countries have been priceless."
