The dead humpback which washed onto rocks at Wallabi this morning has been pushed off the rock shelf onto the beach.
National Parks said it is likely the carcass will be cut up tomorrow (Tuesday September 16) morning and buried elsewhere as there is no suitable burial site on the beach nearby.
UPDATED: National Parks and Wildlife Service staff believe orcas (killer whales) had attacked the humpbacks as the bottom jaw of both whales has large bite marks.
TWO dead humpback whales have washed up near Saltwater National Park.
One is on Saltwater Beach and the second is on rocks at Wallabi Point.
National Parks and Wildlife Service staff are on Saltwater Beach as arrangements are made to bury the dead whale in the dunes.
