The Melbourne-based Moody confirmed he will attend the dinner this week.
Black Caviar was unbeaten in 25 starts. This included 15 Group One victories, beating the previous mark set by Kingston Town. She was named WTRR world champion sprinter in 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013.
The cup carnival will start on Friday August 22 with the cup to be the feature event of the Sunday August 24 meeting.
However, Taree-Wingham Race Club chairman Greg Coleman said there would be a change in tradition with the cup program this year. The Calcutta dinner is usually held on the Saturday night with the Gold Cup run on the Sunday.
"But this year we'll be clashing with the Can Assist Ball on the Saturday night,'' Mr Coleman said.
He said the club was reluctant to conduct the Calcutta on the Thursday night in conjunction with the cup launch, even though the fields will be known.
"With the cup on Sunday Thursday night is too early, even though we would refund money to anyone who bought a horse that was later scratched,'' he said.
"We used to hold the Calcutta on Thursday night years ago, but that was when the cup was on the Friday.''
Instead the club will hold the Calcutta in the Corey Brown Pavilion at Bushland Drive Complex on the Saturday evening (August 23).
Mr Coleman said this would be more of a casual affair than in previous years.
"We get plenty of visitors to the area for the carnival and going to the Calcutta on the Saturday night will provide some entertainment for them,'' he said.
