This championship carnival was held at two venues being Forster Aquatic Centre and Trinity Lismore to enable as many swimmers on the north coast to compete as possible. The results from both events were merged after the races were held to provide overall placings.
Taree swimmers were successful in their events, with many swimming personal best times. This is a great achievement given most swimmers reduce their training effort over the winter months.
Georgia Bosher and Olivia Dew competed in the under nine age group and both came home with a bronze medal, Georgia for 100m backstroke and Olivia for breaststroke. The under 11 age group 200m freestyle was a hotly contested event with bronze medals being awarded to Kiera Bosher in the girls event and Bevan Smith in the boys event.
Mark Dew had a great race and finished third in the over 17 age group for 50m freestyle while Jordan Smith excelled in his races, coming home with five medals achieved across all strokes, which is a great achievement.
