Today an Optus spokesperson advised The Manning River Times that customers were "affected as a result of a third party accidently cutting an Optus fibre on Wednesday".
"This affected some 2G and 3G sites which resulted in loss of some voice and data services. Optus fibre crews were engaged and all connections were restored by Wednesday evening and Optus apologises for the inconvenience this has caused."
