Officer in charge of the march, Fred North, led it. Mr North served with the 2/13th Battalion through the Middle East and South West Pacific campaigns with distinction.
Member for Lyne Bruce Cowan, Greater Taree City mayor Les Brown and Taree RSL Sub-branch president Eric Lowbridge followed Mr North.
In the parade were three veterans of World War 1 and servicemen from World War II, the Korean war and Vietnam war.
Those who took part ranged from 86-year-old World War 1 veteran Lester McCulloch of Wingham Court (who travelled in a taxi) to nine year old Justin Smith of Blue Gum Avenue. Mr McCulloch, an Englishmen by birth, took part in the Battle of Cambrai, the first battle involving tanks.
Earlier around 100 ex-servicemen and women lined up at the Memorial Clock in Fotheringam Park, Taree for the Dawn Service.
Ron Badger covered both for the Times.
