Labelled 'the world's most innovative farmer' by Time Magazine, American Joel Salatin is the author of nine books, countless articles and has led seminars and courses resulting in tens of thousands of people changing in the way they spend, eat, farm and live.
The world's best farmer is returning to Australia in February-March 2014 for a five city interactive seminar series.
Taree is the only tour location in NSW. The Manning Valley has been chosen because of its rich agricultural land and heritage, its unique tourist attractions, clean air, lush landscape, abundance of natural assets, resources and its potential to become an agricultural mecca.
Mr Salatin will be joined by his son, Daniel and daughter-in-law Sheri. Daniel manages Polyface Farms, the best known farm in the United States and from its 1000 acres services more than 5000 families, restaurants and retail outlets within a three-hour 'Foodshed'.
Daniel's wife Sheri is Polyface Farm's marketing director.
The focus of these seminars will be around re-invigorating agriculture and engaging farmers of all ages, including those new and existing to the possibilities that abound in this vital industry on which we all depend.
The Salatins' story and Polyface Farms' proven techniques have inspired many thousands of Australasian farmers and consumers to understand that you don't need a lot of capital to get farming and that you can farm whilst helping to regenerate families, farms, landscapes and the food system.
The seminar will be held on Tuesday, February 25 from 9am - 5.30pm at the Manning Entertainment Centre.
All participants will get a copy of Joel's latest book 'Field of Farmers'.
