Thanks to Roberto Piper who has been relaying text messages on how Dom Riley and Tony Hinton have been going at the State Titles being played at Ettalong BC over the last 2 days. The boys did a great job in winning their first round match 26-17 but unfortunately went down in their next two matches 28-14 and 23-16 to miss out on the Final playoffs. It was a great effort by the boys to make the playoffs and they should be very proud of their achievements.
Rob Piper will now front up with his team of Jim Matthews and Billy Hilton in the President's Triples playoffs over the next couple of days to try to bring home a State Title. Good luck lads.
At home, Club Triples results saw Rob Piper, Gary Basham and Jim Matthews eventually find the line against Craig Glover, Peter Hall and Bob Worth after a hard-fought match. Scores were locked 18-18 on the 20th end but Rob and co. came home strongly to eventually run out winners 24-20.
Phil Capes, Mitch and Bill Townes jumped out of the blocks quickly against Jeremy Watson, Greg Sadler and Mick Brooks, and were never headed in their impressive 38-14 win. Phil and Rob will now meet in this year’s Triples Final, but not until Robert and his team at Ettalong attempt to bring home another State Title for Club West this week.
Zone Pairs are set down to be played this weekend. Good luck to all Club West teams competing.
Results will be updated next week.
