Last week John Bown, Dick Deas, Terry Lockley , Steve Crain, David Penman and Steve Phillips were in the Zone 8 RSL team which competed against Zone 5, 6 and 7 for the right to play off for the State Title. The team won convincingly and, in the process, took home the Old Bar Shield. They are extremely confident of going the whole way this year.
The pennant selectors are busily working through the teams for the first game of the year which is set down for the 6th of March. There is no definite draw yet, as Zone officials are working through the availability of greens. Teams will be on the board in the next few days, and members are asked to check and to let Chairman Mark Robinson of availability by ticking names on the sheet. Our two greens will be available following renovations. The NSWBA have directed that all members of the pennant teams must wear the same coloured headware.
State singles entries close on Friday, and the first matches will be played on the 14th March. Application forms are on the board.
