Ninety people attended a function at Club West for a wonderful day of honoring this club steeped in tradition.
It was founded on October 6 1958 and has gone from strength to strength in that time. There were representative from the Lower North Coast District executive, Club Limited executive, Taree West Men’s Bowling Club, Past Presidents Association, all 14 clubs within the LNC District, all players or members, past and present for Taree West women.
Many people went to great lengths to share in the day, including a 97-year-old Life Member who travelled up from the Central Coast just for the occasion.
A feature was the display of club memorabilia featuring highlights of the club’s rich history.
Several members were awarded special merit pins. This included Edith Cavanagh (40 years service to women’s bowls), Ann Haydon (30 years service), Jean Smith (25 years service) and Pam Cooper (10 years service).
