Prime Minister Scott Morrison announced the men’s and women’s sides on Wednesday.
Wheeler, who played for St George in the inaugural NRL Holden Women’s Premiership this year, has been named at lock.
Earlier this season she represented NSW against Queensland in the State of Origin clash at North Sydney Oval.
Wheeler played every minute of St George's three matches in the NRL premiership. She was named in the team of the week after round two when playing a starring role in her side’s win over New Zealand. This was St George’s only win in the competition.
