Three by 90!
Three lady bowlers from Old Bar recently celebrated their 90th birthdays together. Milka Bekkers, Margot Lewis and Babara Boyd came together for a joint celebration.
A Fun Family Night
The Old Bar community was treated to a night of fun, food and frolic at the Family Bush Dance Fundraiser last Saturday in the Old Bar School hall.
The night was organised by Linda and Mike Norris for Humanitarian Projects International (HPI), to raise the funds needed to renovate a school in a rural village near Kashekuro in western Uganda, Africa.
Linda and Mike were once again amazed by the generosity of the Old Bar community with prizes donated by a total of 18 businesses and six individuals for the auction, the lucky door prize and the Buy-a-brick Tombola stall.
The fundraising “bricks” sold will actually be taken by the HPI team to Uganda and will be placed in the wall of the building being constructed.
All proceeds from the raffle, the “bricks”, the auction and the bush dance tickets will be used for the project.
There are still a number of “bricks” left to be sold for $10 or $20.
Anyone interested in purchasing a brick or discussing the work of HPI are welcome to call Linda and Mike Norris on 0408 077 089.
