Works to be undertaken over a four week period include a general clean up to remove sea grass that has built up over the busy summer season, and replacing the existing and worn safety netting.
“It’s a popular swimming spot for local families and tourists, so we’ve scheduled the maintenance to take place during the cooler weather “, explained Dan Aldridge, MidCoast Council’s Manager, Community Spaces, Recreation and Trades. “The new safety netting we’re installing can be taken out for cleaning so maintenance in future will be a simpler process”.
Signage will be in place during the closure period, and visitors are asked to stay clear of the area while the work is being conducted.
It is anticipated the pool will reopen in the first week of June, weather permitting.
