Councillors considered adapting the schedule to allow for two ordinary meetings per month, instead of the current plan of one strategic meeting and one ordinary meeting.
The motion was moved by Cr Troy Fowler and seconded by Cr Karen Hutchinson before a 9-2 vote in favour of the current schedule.
The possible change was discussed due to the increase of workload, volume of business undertaken by councillors and the addition of workshops.
The changes would have affected the meeting schedule until at least the end of the year.
Regardless of the meeting schedule, a minimum of 10 ordinary meetings must be held each year.
MidCoast Council’s next ordinary meeting will be held at the Gloucester administration centre on Wednesday, March 28.
