Manning Great Lakes police attended to the scene where they found the truck stopped a short distance away.
It was a difficult task for residents to get ready for school and work as the incident caused power to be cut in Chatham, Cundletown, Old Bar and parts of Taree just before 6am.
It returned shortly after 8am.
The power outage remained for houses in the vicinity of the incident.
Manning Great police were on site to investigate the incident and manage traffic as the traffic lights to the Cowper Street and Manning River Drive intersection remained off.
Essential Energy remained on site to restore power to and assess the damage.
The driver was not seriously injured in the incident.
