The program is an educational experience for children aged between seven and 14 and requires students to complete activities outside of the classroom.
Each child is issued with a ‘Passport for Learning’ which they will use to record their activities.
Once they complete the required 30 hours, they will graduate at ceremony at the University of Newcastle’s Great Hall.
Children’s University coordinator Selina Darney said the program encourages children to explore their community for further learning. Lansdowne Public School will also be involved with the program this year.
