Corey Harper put Manning in the box seat when Gloucester was rolled for 204. Earlier Manning captain Danial Stone won the toss and elected to send Gloucester into bat.
Harper took the bowling honours with 4/49. Stone finished with 2/32 and Brad Staff 2/40 while Brad Christensen bowled a good line with three maidens in his eight overs. He finished with 1/22.
Opening batsman Bevan Coleman smashed four boundaries in making 33 in Manning’s reply. Richard Eggins top scored with 61 that included eight boundaries and Manning looked to be cruising at 3/144 when Eggins was dismissed. However, the loss of three quick wicket suddenly had Manning in a spot of bother at 7/189 before Murray McCartney steered the side home with an unbeaten 30.
Manning completed an unbeaten season. The association’s record in the 35s had previously been underwhelming and last year Manning failed to win a match.
