Lansdowne School awards
Lansdowne School held their school assembly recently, with a number of awards presented to celebrate the achievements of students.
In class K/1/2, the student of the week was Alex Emerton, who received his award for having an excellent start to year one.
Class awards were presented to Isabella Graham, Logan Daniels, Kade Currie, Wren Irvine Knight, Ebony Bain, Charlie Lucas and Lucas Steed.
These awards were all presented as a big welcome to Lansdowne School.
The fast maths award went to Dakota Witchard for his improvement in fast maths.
The artist award was presented to Luke Williams, for improving in maths.
The bronze award went to Rhys Currie.
In class two, three and four, student of the week was presented to Christopher Morrison for making an excellent start to the year.
The class award went to Hayden Callaghan for a super effort in writing.
The artist award was given to Thomas Newman for his fabulous “spider web”.
In class five and six, student of the week was awarded to Casey Fletcher, for going beyond expected work.
Class awards were given to Cheyenne Witchard for her excellent start to the year, and Kayla O’Connor for having a go and always trying.
The fast maths award was given to Caleb James for working hard to show his working out.
The gold award went to Zach Nielsen.
Small schools swimming carnival
Lansdowne School students attended the small schools swimming carnival, held on Monday, February 12 at Manning Aquatic Leisure Centre in Taree.
The Lansdowne students had a great day and showed great talent and sportsmanship.
Well done to Connor Potts, Beau Williams, Lachlan Callaghan and William Moss who will be representing the school at the zone carnival on Thursday, February 22.
Congratulations to Beau Williams on achieving age champion on the day.
Lansdowne bowling club
The Lansdowne men’s bowling club’s X-cut triples were played at the Lansdowne Bowling and Recreation Club recently.
Wayne O’Neil’s team were the winners of the competition.
Graeme Burns’ team ran a close second, and Ted Drake’s team came third.
Lansdowne men bowlers can now arrange times for their club championships to be played when they are ready.
The Lansdowne bowling men’s club has entered two teams to play in the 2018 pennants season.
They will be playing in the fives and sevens.
The pennants commence on the March 3.
Bowlers are still required to give assistance to run their weekly raffles at the club each Friday and Sunday.
Community hall markets
Bookings are now being taken for stall holders for the Lansdowne community hall markets.
The markets are scheduled to be on Saturday, March 31.
Inside and outside spaces are available for stalls on the day.
Please bring your own tables for stalls as there aren’t any available at the venue.
The markets are known for their friendly and social atmosphere.
There is plenty of outside spaces in a lovely setting.
The markets are held to raise funds for the upkeep of the hall.
Cost is only $10 per stall site.
