Taree Toastmasters is searching for former members who have belonged to the club over the past half century, as the club makes plans to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

To mark the event, Toastmasters will host a gala dinner at Club Taree, where its regular meetings are held, on Saturday, April 14.

Toastmasters trains people in the challenging but rewarding skills of public speaking and presentation.

Toastmasters member, Kathryn Bell is coordinating invitations to former members.

“Of the few hundred people who have belonged to the club, we know that quite a few have gone on to become well known or highly accomplished,” she said.

“We are trying to reach all former members, asking them to contact us.

“We’ll invite them to come to one of our meetings, as well as attend the 50th anniversary dinner.”

Kathryn said the dinner will be attended by at least one original member of Taree Toastmasters, dating from the club’s formation in 1969.

Former members are invited to contact Kathryn Bell on 0427 629 428‬, or email her at clubtareetoastmasters@gmail.com.
