Another good week for anglers in the Manning River

Despite the hot weather early in the week and the southerly winds of the past couple of days the Manning has performed well for anglers.

Bream are biting well on bait right up to Wingham and the flathead catches are getting better and better.

Several large fish up to 90cm have been caught in the lower part of the river and released once the mandatory photo has been taken.

Whiting are showing up in the estuary on the sand flat and along the beach. Yabbies are the best bait for the whiting.

There are heaps of small whitebait schools in the river and where you can find these there will be predatory fish close by.

Tailor are plentiful on the beaches feeding on whitebait. Small metal lures will ensure a feed of fish.

Outside snapper have been caught up around Mermaid Reef as well as pearl perch.

Flathead continue to bite on the drift.
