Lara Watts and Bree Pensini star for champion NSW indoor hockey side

MANNING’S Lara Watts and Bree Pensini were members of the championship winning NSW under 15 girl’s side at the Australian Indoor Hockey Championships played at Goulburn.

Lara was named player of the tournament and she was also the leading goal scorer. Bree was the sixth leading goal scorer in the week-long event.

NSW defeated Queensland 3-1 in the goal medal match, with Lara scoring the first and last goals.

Between then Lara and Bree scored 18 of NSW’s 31 goals in the tournament.

“The NSW girls were superb throughout the tournament,’’ a NSW official said.

“The combination of talent and some fantastic coaching saw them comfortably defeat Queensland 3-1 in the gold medal match.’’

Tahni Walters from Taree officiated at matches throughout the tournament.

Lara and Bree were named in the NSW side after playing for Manning in the State titles last year, where the side won the division one championship.
