The club members are disappointed that they are not able to host an event this year but plan to be back in action next year.

Will Forrest Lane be sealed?
Following concerns raised by residents about the speed being travelled by vehicles in the Ocean Blue estate area, MidCoast Council has installed traffic monitors on Forrest Lane, Bluehaven Drive and Wyden Street.
This will give council data on the volume of traffic using these roads, as well as the speeds.
At a public meeting in Old Bar on October 30, 2017, council’s general manager, Glenn Handford, in response to a question, advised that if the traffic volume on an unsealed road exceeds 250 movements per day, then it would be eligible for consideration for sealing.
Forrest Lane runs from Wyden Street to Saltwater Road but the section west of the developed area is unsealed. Despite it being rough and dusty, many locals, and quite a few construction vehicles and tradesmen, use it as a shorter route to Ocean Blue estate.
Representations have been made to council to have additional 50kph signs erected at the entrance to Bluehaven Drive, similar to those at the entrances of Medowie Road and Wyden Street to reinforce with motorists that they are still restricted to that speed.
Well done MidCoast Council for recently erecting a sign on Old Bar Road, just east of the commencement of the 50kph zone to remind motorists and urge them to slow down.

Craft at Old Bar
Craft at Old Bar resumes next Wednesday, February 7.
The group’s first workshop for 2018 will be creating Mothers' Day cards for on forwarding to our servicemen and women who are serving overseas and unable to access cards for their loved ones.
This is a project we embrace on an annual basis and is known as Combat Cards. It is a way we show our appreciation to those wonderful servicemen and women who serve our country so brilliantly and willingly.
Bring along your card making materials and ideas. Of course there will be some cards on display in case you need inspiration.
Craft at Old Bar meets on the first, third and fifth Wednesday of the month, school holidays excepted.
The venue is the Soldiers Memorial Hall, Hall Street, Old Bar, and the time is from 11am until 2pm. Bring your lunch, tea and coffee provided.
Cost is $4 per session, and sometimes a little more for kits or materials, if provided.
All ladies are most welcome. We are a friendly bunch, happy to share our ideas, and you will be made to feel at home with us. It is not necessary to participate in workshops.
