They have already had their first basic training day with locker drills and getting to know equipment and bowling and rolling hoses.
They also learned how to get water in and out of the truck.
The addition of the new numbers to the brigade are very welcomed especially now with the hot weather which could mean more bush fires.
If anyone else would like to join the team you would be most welcome.
There are many roles that can be filled from administration or maintain the equipment.
Dan Walsh performance
The Upper Lansdowne community hall committee will be introducing Dan Walsh from the UK on January 27 at the hall.
Dan was nominated for best musician at the 2016 BBC folk awards.
He performs with his claw hammer style banjo.
He will be supported by Dawn Barrington from WA a contemporary folk singer and a regular favourite at festivals around the country.
Gourmet rolls, tea, coffee and cake will be available, but feel free to bring your own drinks and nibbles.

Lansdowne craft group
The Lansdowne craft group is now back for 2018.
The group meet every Tuesday from 9.30am at the Lansdowne community hall.
Take along your craft and join in with the ladies and have a great craft and social day. Tea and coffee is provided, just take along some morning tea and lunch.
The upper Lansdowne craft group is also back for 2018. New members are always welcome.
The group meet every Thursday morning in the Upper Lansdowne community hall from 10am.
Lansdowne community market
The first Lansdowne community market for 2018 will be held on Saturday, March 31.
The markets are held in the Lansdowne hall and surrounding grounds and raise funds for the maintenance on the hall.
