The event, hosted by Forster Triathlon Club, focused on giving girls of all abilities the chance to try their luck at competing in a triathlon.
Forster Triathlon Club president Dave Fitzhardinge was thrilled with the turnout for the event, with competitor numbers reaching capacity.
“We had to turn some away which was unfortunate,” Dave said.
Despite the unfavourable conditions, Dave said the event was enjoyed by all.
“There was no wind in the morning but about 20 minutes before the race the southerly front came in,” Dave said.
“Everyone still had a smile on their face.”
Aimee Carlin was the first over the line in 40 minutes and 33 seconds.
He confirmed the girls only triathlon will be held in 2019.
