An allround performance from Matthew Wesley paved the way for the victory. Wesley took 3/21 as United’s batting crashed to be all out for 93 in the 35th over. Murray McCartney top scored for United with 26. He was under an injury cloud with a hamstring strain going into the match.
Taree West then scored the necessary runs for the loss of four wickets, with West leading the way be spanking 42 runs from 39 balls. Dean Mills also had a good match, scoring 29 runs and taking two wickets. Danial Stone took 3/29 for United.
Wingham bowlers paved the way for a win over Wauchope in sweltering conditions at Andrews Park, Wauchope. The hosts were bowled out for 83 in the 31st over where all the Wingham bowlers took at least two wickets.
Brock Hynes led the run chase scoring 37 as Wingham hit the winning runs in the 17th over.
Wingham travelled up to Wauchope’s Andrews Park. Both teams were lucky not to melt! Wauchope batted first and were rolled for 83 in the 31st over. Aaron Hagenbach opened and top scored with 33. All the Wingham bowlers took at least 2 wickets to show an attack coming together. By the 17th over Wingham passed the Wauchope total. Brock Hynes top scored with 37.
Blake Lance scored a superb 104 – the second century of the season – as Port Macquarie Magies put together 9/269 in th ematch against Port Leagues at Oxley Oval.
Lance was ably supported by the experienced Tim Harris with 54.
Pirates never looked likely to to make the runs but batted through the overs to finish with 9/149. Captain Ben Woodward top scored with 26.
The local derby in Kempsey between Rovers and Nulla was over quickly. Rovers were rolled for 62 in 11 overs. Nicholas Clarke took 4/30 and then scored an unbeaten 26 to give Nulla a comprehensive win.
