Well, look no further then these fun activities that will be sure to keep your children entertain before school commences for 2018.

Several libraries in the Manning will host movie screenings for children as part of the MidCoast Libraries summer holidays program.

Harrington Library will show ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ on Friday, January 5 from 10.30am to 12.15pm.

At Hallidays Point Library, ‘Cars 3’ will be shown on Tuesday, January 9 from 2pm to 3.45pm. 

‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul’ will screen at Wingham Library on Monday, January 15 at 2.30pm to 4pm and ‘Captain Underpants’ will be shown at Taree Library on Monday, January 22 from 2pm to 3.30pm.

Bookings to all screenings are essential. Screenings are supervised and entry is free.

Parents must supervise children five years and under. Bring your own cushion to sit on.

Children will also have the chance to partake in a number of workshops.

Taree Library will host ‘scratch art’ on Tuesday, January 9 between 2pm and 3pm. It is for ages four and up with parent supervision required for children five years and under.

Forster Library will team up with Bunnings Warehouse for a DIY workshop on Wednesday, January 17 between 10.30am and noon.

Children can construct their own project using a hammer, nails and glue that will then be decorated and painted.

Old clothes or an apron must be worn.

All materials are supplied and morning tea will be provided.

It is for ages five to 12 and booking is essential.

A drama workshop will be held on Wednesday, January 17 at both Wingham and Taree libraries.

Children will participate in creative theatre sports style acting games.

The first session at Wingham will be between 11am and noon and at Taree 2pm to 3pm.

Cost is $8 per child and is for ages eight and up.

At Hallidays Point Library, a kite making workshop will be held on Tuesday, January 23 between 2.30pm and 3.30pm. 

The Science on the Move program will be held at the following locations:

Cost is $7 per child and is open to children five to 12 years of age.

Artist Christine Ball will hold creative painting classes at Harrington Library on Thursday, January 18 from 10.30am to noon and at Hallidays Point Library on Friday, January 19 at 10.30am to noon.

Cost is $10 per child. 

The Crazy Daisy Magic Show and Pirate Party will be held at Tea Gardens Library on Wednesday, January 17 2.30pm to 3.30pm and Forster Library on Monday, January 22 10.30am to noon. 

Cost is $7 per child and is for ages five and up.

If that’s not enough, Taree, Harrington and Hallidays Point libraries are open each day will an array of puzzles and games between 10am and 4pm.

Wingham Library will have them set up on Monday, January 8 and 22 2.30pm to 4pm.

Each Wednesday between between 2pm and 4pm at Taree Library, children will be treated to a virtual reality experience.

Kids bingo will also be held on the following dates:

Hallidays Point Library will hold a board games elimination event on Tuesday, January 16 2.30pm to 4pm.

Children will participate in memory, scrabble, dominoes, checkers and snakes and ladders to a determine a games champion.

It is for ages four to 12. No booking is required and children must be supervised.

The next day at the library, an indoor relays event will be held between 10.30am and 11.30am.
