The work was carried out before Christmas. The new awning was also to be installed at the same time however incorrect steel was delivered to the manufacturer. The awning is now expected to be erected before the end of January.
MidCoast Council is expected to undertake further improvements, such as replacing seating and facia boards as well as waterproofing, throughout early 2018.
The refurbishment of the grandstand was made possible by to the Lansdowne Football Club securing $15,070 in grant funding and partnering with MidCoast Council, which will be injecting around $30,000 into this infrastructure improvement project that will benefit the whole community.
Mixed open cross cut bowls event
Lansdowne Men’s Bowling club will be hosting their Mixed Open Cross Cut 2 bowls Triples event over the weekend of January 27 and 28. On the Saturday, January 27 there will be three games of 15 ends commencing at 9am. On Sunday, January 28 there will be two games of 12 ends played and will commence at 9am.
