However, this has to be ratified by the group’s board.
This will be a fortnight before the North Coast/Central Coast clash in the opening round of the country championship on May 5. The championship draw was unveiled at the CRL annual conference held in Sydney.
“I had a look at our draw on the weekend and that looks to be the best date,’’ Group Three chairman Wayne Bridge said.
"It will give our selectors the pre-season, the Indigeneous/All Stars and the opening week of the competition to look at players.’’
The North Coast sides will be named at the conclusion of the matches.
Group Three will host the match this season, although no decision has been made as to where the game will be played. Mr Bridge said the group will open applications for coaches, managers and selectors early in the new year.
“But if anyone is interested in the coaching positions they can contact us now.’’
Group Three last hosted the clashes against Group Two in 2016 when the games were played at the Jack Neal Oval at Taree.
