Power was cut to residents in the Chatham area on Monday, December 4 after a car crashed into a power pole on Cowper Street.

At about 12.30pm, a 50-year-old driver was travelling in an easterly direction near Palanas Drive in a Nissan four wheel drive when it crossed over the double white lines.
The driver continued along Cowper Street for some distance until crashing heavily into a power pole.
The driver was taken to Manning Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.
Manning Great Lakes police officers are awaiting test results to determine if further action is required.
