Highlight of the afternoon was the awarding of the club’s life membership to 86 year old June McLean, who still dances regularly twice a week.
Also at the social was the club’s other current life member, 93-year-old Heather McGregor, who still manages to attend classes - but is slowing down a bit!
Everyone recognises that physical activity is beneficial, especially as people get older, and line dancing offers people of all ages the chance to exercise according to their ability.
Because every song has its own unique line dance, it also keeps the brain stimulated by learning more dances.
Saturday’s social would have had up to 60 different dances, ranging from beginners to advanced level, so dances for everyone.
Mid North Coast Bootscooters hold various day and evening classes in Wingham/Taree/ Old Bar and in Foster/Tuncurry.
New dancers are always welcome and several classes start with a beginners section for people who have never danced before.
